Financial Overview

Let’s study the general tasked to lead an army across a field in enemy territory. The troops are on the ground in harm’s way; their vision is narrowed as they are just trying to move forward to take more ground. Is the general’s best position on the front lines under duress and gunfire or cushioned by some margin of safety to be more available to view the field and take status reports from the different units in the field? The answer is quite obvious, and it is easy to see how the perspective of each of the troops, different units and the general would all be very real and very different.

Someone famously said that “There was only one Eisenhower on D-Day." Can you imagine the confusion of having multiple generals, each with different perspectives of the battle, feeding conflicting orders to the same fighting units?

We all are surrounded by multiple perspectives of what we need to be doing with our money. A lot of people feel like they can be the general. Whether it’s the coworker at the water cooler or the rich in-law, their advice is ‘real’ coming from their perspective of their role in the field. But it may not be real for YOUR situation. They also cannot sympathize or be aware of all the potential risks waiting to sabotage your financial goals.

What is the Financial Overview?

The Financial Overview is the analysis of YOUR field from a general that has a lot of detail that you provide to help you gain the most ground as quickly as possible while trying to avoid the many threats that are lurking to sabotage your end goal.
